details

Your clients expect the best communication skills of your principals, managers and staff. We have found that the context of storytelling allows opportunities for exploring all the subtle ways presenters can gain confidence and poise where these qualities might otherwise be elusive.

In your Storytelling 101 Workshop we will cover the basics of developing a persuasive presentation and topics such as:

  • What makes a great story.
  • How to improve stage presence and why is delivery often as important as content.
  • How to decide on visuals.
  • How to prepare yourself physically and mentally to present.
  • How do know when you’ve rehearsed enough.
  • How to treat team presentations and individual presentations differently.
  • How to handle questions and answers.
  • How to manage anxiety.

Class participants will answer the following questions:

  • How do I develop a great story that my audience will care about?
  • How do we get our audience to really listen?
  • How do we learn to tell stories better as a team?
  • How do I look more convincing and passionate?

Developing Flow

In a brief lecture we describe what defines a great story, and how to arrive at stories about design that would interest the potential client. How the telling of the story affects the narrative itself. Each attendee will have a workbook to use during the class to emphasize the storytelling basics and follow along the story of the seminar itself.

Story Techniques

Class participants learn techniques to enhance the delivery of their messages, from visual impacts such as posture, dress, facial expression and eye contact, to vocal impacts such as modulation, pacing, and use of “the pause”.

Individual training

Each person in your office is different and delivers in a different way. We take the strengths of each person as a baseline that we can build on. Focusing on individual needs and talents, practice in one on one sessions can move the needle for each practitioner.

Practice Practice Practice

Adults learn by “doing” not just listening; this workshop allows participants an opportunity to practice the techniques we teach. The small class size allows for constant mentorship.

Logistics

The class size is 10 attendees per day. This size allows each person time for practice presentations and for individual coaching from instructors.
